ABOUT THE REGION
In Latin America, COMF Latin America are doing joint projects to benefit all the region. They created the platform to show the brands and designers works in the region. COMF Latin America initiated the page “ Hijab Latinoamérica”. It shows not only modest Latin clothing brands but all kind of Latin American entrepreneurship. COMF Latin America also actively supporting many great Latina talents initiatives through many platforms; from radio program to offline events. COMF Latin America is led by two entrepreneurs; Eugene Salasar and Vilma Habibah Santos.
ABOUT EUGENIA SALASAR (NUR)
Eugenia Salasar or also known as Nur is a fashion entrepreneur from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She created her brand; Maria & Nur in 2013. She started learning molding and tailoring since she was very interested in this world of fabrics and textures. Maria & Nur had the fortune of being able to be highlighted on several occasions and at different local events. Nur is one of the first woman who gathers all Latin American modest brands to collaborate together.
VILMA HABIBAH SANTOS
Vilma Habibah is a hispanic muslim who migrated to New York in her twenties from Puerto Rico. Currently she is the founder of Alianza de mujeres, co-founder of Casa Alhambra and is the first hispanic woman hosting a radio show in Spanish on the radio of USA about Islamic interfaith.
She has been an actively supporting Latina Community for over ten years. Vilma has numerous accolades to her name, such as the Humanity Award of 2014 and the Community Hero Award of 2018. In addition to that, she won the prestigious “Most Impactful Woman” award presented by the United Nations.
